What does a Friday night look like for me these days?
Just like this.....
Tomorrow is a big day in MWood Marathon trainingland. It is my last 20 miler before the Marathon!!! My first 20 miler went much, much better than I had anticipated,
so I'm scared to death it was beginners luck.
My body might catch on because it knows what's up. Ha!
All in all, I've been blessed and have been injury free and healthy throughout the training. I only hope and pray to round these next few weeks out well.
Lots of icing, stretching and hydrating! My legs are tired and sore,
as to be expected and I've had a little nagging pain in the top of my foot so
I'm just trying to show my legs some love.
Lemme just tell you, marathon training is not the easiest thing I've ever set out to do. Lawdy. It's a commitment. Like, almost as much of a commitment as agreeing to let your husband move to Alaska for 5 months. Ha. I'm pretty sure this is harder than living without my main man for an entire summer. Running has consumed my life. My eating, sleeping, drinking, breathing are all focused around my runs. When you're running 10 miles 2 times during the week after work and a 20 miler on Saturday, it takes up quite a bit of time. I know all of my friends, family and coworkers are just as ready for December 4th as I am.
Thanks for all your support, friends and fam.
I guess that's part of it. If it was easy, everyone would do it right?
I am kindasorta really bitter that I'm missing the opening weekend of rifle deer season in Arkansas with my Dad just because I have to run in the morning. Grrrr
All my little bloggy friends, while you're enjoying your Friday evening,
I'll be over here icing and getting ready for the morning.
Wish me luck!
COME ON, TAPER!!!!
