home sweet home to me....

good old rocky top.... rocky top tennesseeeeee!

man, what a weekend.

i have been wanting to go to the UT/FL game since last season, since i look forward to football all year.

but, with jwood being gone and not really having planned it, i thought i was going to miss the boat until my good friend, amanda, hit me up and asked if i would be in town. the wheels got to turning -
um, yes i wanted to be in town!

amanda was my neighbor, and very good friend, my senior year at UT. we have shared some super fun times together, including a trip to her home in michigan and mine in arkansas. and, many, many game day and general college celebrations. in addition, lee was another one of our neighbors and just so happens, they're going to spend forever and ever amen together :)

several other friends from college were there too.
i got there friday night and we had so much to catch up on!
it was sooo good to see them all.

saturday, or as i affectionally refer to it - GAME DAY,
came with lots of sunshine.

the first, and only, hiccup of the day came upon the purchase of our tickets. there were 4 of us and so we scoped out the ticket situation before heading to the tailgate. some nice (or what we thought...) man sold us tickets in the lower bowl, 20 yard line, 20 rows up!!!! BINGO!!!!! we couldn't wait to head in and post up in our fantastic seats........until we remembered that section A was smack dab in the middle of the FLORIDA SECTION. really, old man?!
did we look like FL fans adorned in TN orange and white? oh well.
we decided to just suck it up and make the most of it.

lee works for sisco and they had a huge tailgate right in circle park. for those of you who aren't familiar with campus, that's right where the college of communications building is....

aww - the old stomping grounds
look what other comm alum i ran into :)
and a primo tailgate location. what a better tailgate than with a food distribution company?! hello. they grilled burgers, hot dogs, and made gator tacos. it was a fantastic tailgate time.

thanks, sisco!
3:30 was game time and it was about 1 million degrees.
we forged our way to the stadium among the masses.
it was my first glimpse at neyland's new face lift! it's soooo pretty!

sure enough - our tickets were center stage of the gator chomp. vomit. luckily, some folks about 3 rows up - and back in tennessee land - decided not to go to the game and we squatted in their seats. whew. so, we
ended up with darn good seats afterall :)

other than the fact, of course, that we were in the sun the entire game. we didn't let it get the best of us though - we sang rocky top and had a blast.... even though we lost.

this was one of the most fun weekends i have had in a long time!
the only thing that could have made it better was if my main squeeze had been there!

until next time, knoxvegas!
