reports from the last frontier.

well, the wood folks are two days into this journey and so far, so good.

meg has stayed with me the past two nights so i wouldn't be alone during the first few nights of this transistion. let me tell you, she's a God's send. :)

when i started dating jwood, my friends all called him my burly alaskan man. ha!
my burly alaskan man has returned to his homeland safe and sound.

jwood departed from nashville at 6am on tuesday morning. (that was an early drive to the airport. ugh) he finally set his feet on alaskan soil at 6:45pm, which was 3:45pm in alaska. his boss, and friend, picked him up from the airport and
TOOK HIM STRAIGHT TO WORK!
no rest for the weary!
but, he was able to just jump right in and pick up where he'd left off.

as soon as he got in the truck, he sent me this picture....

breathtaking!

after working a few hours, he was able to go "home."
thankfully, he's staying with his long-time friend and former roommate, "the hippie."
the hippie has been so generous to let jwood stay with him this summer.
we are so fortunate to have great friends.

jwood and the hippie had lots to catch up on, since they hadn't seen each other in over 3 years.
they did so over an alakan brew and j introduced the hippie to our favorite outdoor friend,

meet the hippie :)

jwood and i are talking as much as we can and are slowly adjusting to the time difference.
last night - he was ready to chat up a storm at 11:15pm!
it was only 8:15 there - mwood is tired today, needless to say.

we're taking this one day at a time.
2 days down, some number to go!

Aww, I like these reports! Just think, you will be there soon! I know it's not an ideal situation, but it will be sooo worth it!

Love you!
