the wood hood

i often refer to mine and j's home as the wood hood. it's kind of my pet name for our little humble abode. i gave the wood hood a little face lift over the weekend and thought i'd invite my blogger friends over for a visit to explore!
first off, i'm a nut about fall. like, get all giddy and excited at the first little crisp, cool breeze. my heart bursts when it's time to head to the pumpkin patch - which i still have yet to do. i love all things fall. and, i love decorating and gearing the wood hood up for fall almost as much as i love decorating for christmas.

want to see what the wood hood looks like all decked out in her fall duds?
first off - it smells of ....

mmmmmmm - delicious.

the mantel has 2 new friends....
meet the indoor mr. scarecrow. i'm pretty sure he and lily chat it up all day.

i couldn't leave the store on sunday without this little pumpkin goodness :)

the table is being kept company by mr. turkey and some festive place mats....

even the cross wall is feeling the fall love!

when you enter the wood hood, you're met by my favorite wreath.....

isn't it lovely?

MUM is the word.... i may or may not have gone mum crazy. home depot loves me.

i can't wait for all of these little guys to bloom!

say hi to my outdoor scarecrow that protects our home. and to our 3 pumpkins - one for j, one for m, and one for lily - they will be carved in a few weeks.

welcome to the hood!

come on around back, it's where we spend most of our time....

i ain't bashful, i'm from nashville....

our back porch decor.

wanna know where i got all of the scarecrows? umm, dollar general - $2 a piece. i shant tell a lie.

and, what's fall without a fire?? we love our fireplace and have already enjoyed our first fire this past sunday.

saturday, jwood spent all.day.long. chopping wood to bring home. he was my little lumberjack that day. he dragged an entire fallen tree down to a friend's house - they chopped it up and he brought it home. nothing is more sexy than a man that can chop his own wood :)

look at that stack! i'm a proud wifey!

this stack is on the front porch for easy access. oh yea!

along with decorating for fall, i decided to spruce up our kitchen and change a few things. i got my inspiration from this kitchen. i was looking all over for little trinkets to buy to put up above our kitchen cabinets but couldn't really find anything i just loved. good thing i didn't but anything. i went home and started rummaging through our house and closets and found plenty of our very own trickets. each piece i found is special and means something to j and i. :) each and every little nick nack was either given to us when we got married, we bought together at some point, or holds a special place in our hearts from our lives before each other. thanks to meg, it looks great - i love it!

that's all for our visit today! now, when i refer to the wood hood - at least you know what i'm talkin' about. hope you can come back really soon - we enjoyed it.

Love your decor! And that Harvest candle smell is my FAVORITE. Thanks for reminding me I need another one. :)
