love letter

dear coffee,

how did i ever survive the first 23 years of my life without you? you have grown to be such a close companion of mine. in fact, i eagerly look forward to our morning connection so much that i plan our visit the evening before - just so i don't forget.

it wasn't until i jumped into this thing they call the real world that i truly learned to appreciate all you have to offer. and, it wasn't until i met J that i thoroughly understood how you, J, and i could bond not only during the week, but especially on the weekend.

now, coffee, please know that i do not judge or discriminate. i will not deny you in public. i like all types of coffee. i will buy coffee from the gas station, help myself at the new publix because a small cup is free, try new flavors from the cool little bongo java place by my work in east nashville, and i just might even sneak a $5 cup from starbucks occasionally.

the sweet aroma in which you fill our home on a daily basis makes getting up a tiny tiny bit better. the warmth that you share on a cold winter day makes the blustery morning bearable. the sweet, sweet connection that you have with miss hazelnut and miss splenda is a connection that cannot be compromised.

i want to take this opportunity to thank you for helping me make it to work each day. thank you for the bond that you have created between my husband and i over a cup on weekend mornings. and, last but not least -thank you for the excuse to buy cute, new "to-go" coffee cups!

love,

m
