jwood update

i haven't had the chance to blog in a while - why? because i'm lazy when i
finally get home and have the time. after work and running and dinner and
laundry and cleaning and loving on my pup, i have a hard time getting myself together to blog.

but, i'll try to do better for all you readers out there. :)

i realized that i haven't given a jwood alaska update in a long while.
since i was in alaska in july, my hubs has been working his tail off and celebrated his 30th birthday!!!!
birthdays are a huge deal to me, so it was difficult missing such a huge
birthday milestone. i have promised him that we will celebrate upon his return.

speaking of return, he'll be home NEXT SATURDAY!!!!!

after working several 100+ hour weeks, my hard working man is going to wrap up this summer adventure and will be heading home - finally. i honestly cannot believe that 5 months have already come and gone. thanks to great friends, family, and a few trips to visit him, this summer has been tough, but good. so after i run my tail off in the Women's 1/2 on saturday morning, i'll running to the airport to scoop up my burly alaskan!

i cannot wait to have him back in tennessee!!!!
we've come this far - only 5 days and a wake up to go!

here are a few pictures he's shared with me over the past 2 months.

everyone asks if he is up there crabbing or fishing........... maybe he is????
no - it just has rained sooooo much this summer that he had to invest in some good rain gear.

they are rebuilding a runway at the anchorage airport,
so he is up close and personal with the planes.

like i said - he celebrated his 30th bday in august. his roommate made him this cake -
isn't it cute!?!?
it's a construction site cake.
i was super glad that his roommate and coworkes helped to make his birthday special,
even if he had to celebrate without me.

check out that sky! those blue skies will soon turn gray and start dumping snow!
they usually have their first snow fall in the city around halloween.
the snow is already falling on the higher peaks of the mountains.

and, he even sent me flowers :)

hurry home and safe travels, jwood!
