big easy, be easy.

please let me line up beside this guy.....

this weekend is the MARDI GRAS 1/2 MARATHON!
and, i'm going.

here's the back story...
as i mentioned in this post, the wretched recession has hit the wood hood.
in turn, i decided to cancel my trip to NOLA for the 1/2 to save on funds.
it was going to be so much fun!
6 girls, 1 hotel, 3 nights, 1 race - ultimate girls get a way.
i'm still mourning the fact that we're not all getting to go.

last night - 2 days prior to race day.....
i said to jwood with a pitiful pouty face,
"I'm supposed to be on my way to NOLA right now."

he is the best husband ever.
he offered to drive me down there and for us to sleep in our camper!

you see, he recently acquired a camper shell for his Titan.
he's got big hopes for this camper shell, folks.
he thinks that we can sleep in this sucker.
maybe i'll be up for it on a warm spring weekend, but before a 1/2 marathon?
good idea, babe. thanks for being out of your freggin' mind so sweet.

after i growled about sleeping in the truck, he said -
see if you can find an economical room and go.
WHAT? really?
he booked a room and is sending my sis and me to NOLA tonight! yay!!!
he's having to stick around here to study for his calc 3 test next week. yuck.
i'd rather run 13.1 miles than do that. i think he would too.

i'm so excited!!!

problem is, when i decided to cancel my trip -
i cut back my running mileage each week.
i got on track for training for the country music 1/2 in APRIL.
so, i'm only 1/2 prepared for this 1/2.
neat.

completion is the name of the game in the big easy this weekend.
my legs and feet and entire body will probably revolt, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with a hand grenade in hand.
that might be ok too.
maybe hand grenades are a better idea than running 13.1
and only being half butt prepared.

hopefully i'll line up to next to a groovy old man adorned in
all things green, purple, and yellow with a jester hat!

dear big easy,
please be easy on this ill-prepared, spontaneous, excited runner on sunday.
kthanks.

happy weekend!!
