house divided

what. a. weekend.

when the alarm went off at 5:45am on saturday morning, i had no idea what the day would hold. all i knew was that i was headed to the grove for the first time ever and i was super excited. ed was in red, i was in orange and meg & mom were playing switzerland - they were neutral.

we were all smiles on the way to oxford!

a car ride with the langford/lenderman/wood's is always an adventure. we saw two near death encounters on the road. one of which, these drunken seemingly college students darted off of the road onto the shoulder - a guy stumbled out and ran across the lawn towards the woods and proceeded to urinate right there where all of mississippi could see. wow. it was game day in the south.
finally - we made it to my step-bro brad's townhouse and were ready for a fun filled tailgating experience in the grove. we had about 2 hours before kickoff - perfect! instead of fighting the traffic, we opted to walk from brad's house to the grove because "it's not that far..." famous last words that brad, bless his heart, will never EVER live down.
once upon a time, we went to the ole miss/UT game...

brad said, "it's not that far! c'mon, guys.... right this way......."

after 1 hour in the woods, we realized brad hadn't ever been this route before....

we did indeed make it to the game, but not until we'd dumped the cooler over 3 times....

got a few battle wounds and laughed so hard we were crying...

walked about 3 miles toting chairs, brownies, a cooler & crackers...

and getting a good ole Ed cussin'.

we finally made it!

heading to the game, 2 rebels maximized on a photo op!

since j had to study for a stupid test and couldn't go (is this freakin' semester over yet????), we sold his ticket to a fellow UT fan friend of mine, david.

it was a gorgeous day for SEC football!

poor david had to sit with my crazy family. go Vols!

after a long hike, it was worth it.

ed was so proud of his senior engineering student and his directional abilities.

the sibs at the game.

i love these two women with all of my being.

who has the cutest mom in the whole world? oh, me. :)

a house divided. we had a blast. too bad my 1/2 of the house got demolished. we'll get those rebels next time!!

we put the "fun" in dys"fun"ctional.
