home. sweet home.
i had almost forgotten what it was like to be home all weekend. no jumping in the car making a mad dash somewhere on friday night or dreading the drive back to get back to work on sunday evening.
we had all weekend at home. and, it was wonderful.
friday night - j and i did a little shopping at dick's. dick's has become about as dangerous for me lately as REI. after our little shopping excursion, we met up with seth and angela for dinner in the 'boro. it's so nice to have them close!
saturday morning, i woke up bright and early to meet jdoss for our 2nd yearly goodlettesville 4 miler. this little race cracks me up. there are an interesting collaboration of people that show up for this run.
from the men who wear shorty shorts & no shirt that stretch each other to the crew dressed in old school wilderness garb that use their muskets to start the race - it's entertainment at it's finest.
let me just admit - jess and i did so well!! last year - i think we finished the 4 miles in 43ish minutes. no, sir. not this year! we finished in 36 mins and some {insignificant} seconds. i was so proud of both of us!! way to go, jdoss!
we had a great time - despite the fact that when we picked up our number and our "goody" bag, it wasn't so goody. one of the most fun aspects of these little runs is the t-shirt. i mean, i came, i saw, i ran, i got the freakin' t-shirt. welp. the goodlettesville 4miler failed us because they only had size L. neat. we now have sleep shirts. boo.
and, i couldn't find my camera at 5:45am so i didn't get any pictures :(
saturday evening will rank up there with one of the most fun evenings i've had in a while. we celebrated Sarah K's last "single" weekend in nashville! i met Sarah K through my very good friend, Niki, several years ago. she's a doll and i just love her to pieces. she's getting married on the beach in 3 weeks! i'm so happy for her! i was the only girl that wasn't from loudon, TN at the party. but, they let me pretend. we had a blast!
The Bride-To-Be and Me!
Love you, Niki!
ms. jessica and me - it's probably a good thing this little lady and i don't live in the same town. we'd be double trouble too much fun!
All of the Loudon girls and Me :)
And, what's a night out without picking up a stud??? I think he's a keeper.
sunday was a day of rest at the wood hood. j and i enjoyed a lovely little brunch, meg came to soak up some sun in the backyard with me, and we just vegged all day. it was so nice to be home!
this week is a big week in the wood hood. let the countdown begin - this is the last week of summer school! wooooooo! send good vibes, and thoughts, and prayers, and whateverelse our way!
