SPRING BREAK '09 - started off with a bang!

Spring Break - man, to go back to the carefree college days when a group of your good friends would load up and head south for the beach, without a real plan. Oh, the good old days - they're getting farther and farther away so we have to entertain ourselves in this grown up life the best we can. I regretfully say "back in college" because Justin is in college - just taking a different route than I did. Rather than going to the beach (although we'd LOVE to), he welcomes the chance to rest and hang out without studies looming overhead like a dark scary cloud. So, Yay for no school this week! I don't think I have the words to express how much we're going to enjoy this week, just hanging out and doing whatever we want.

We never dreamed Day #1 of SB '09 would turn into one of the best nights out we've ever had in Nashville.

Justin and I went and had some yumdelicious Mexican and headed back home for an early night - or what we thought would be an early Monday night. After showers, brushing teeth (putting in retainers, see post about the orthodontist -thanks, Mom), settling into bed - we got a text from our friend Ben that said - come to Exit/In, Kenny Chesney is doing an unannounced show! NO WAY. I looked at Justin, grinned, and bolted out of bed to throw on clothes and hit the door! We got there at about 11:00pm and he'd already been playing for an hour or so... but, just as we walked in and heard Kenny sing one song - BRAD PAISLEY walked on stage! We were going nuts! This venue is fairly small and intimate - we were RIGHT THERE WITH THEM! It was like all of the audience were just friends tagging along for their little jam session. Kenny was indulging in some adult beverages, they sang some of their songs but mostly anything that came to mind - from "Gimme 3 Steps" to old hymns. The entire night was nearly spoiled when I accidentally DROPPED MY CAMERA and the SDE card flew out and was no where to be found!! Thankfully, Ben had a little LED light on his keychain that lit up the floor and we found it! *whew* The show was a blast - we are so spoiled living in the Music City and I'm elated that we were able to take advantage of a free show like this! Although our butts are dragging today - it was totally worth it!

Thanks for the heads up, Ben! We love you!

Happy SB '09, Baby! I love you!
